The one-year fashion photography course by John Kaverdash offers a fresh and up-to-date education in fashion photography and in all the other related areas that are essential to gain experience and pursue a career in this field.

The one-year fashion photography course begins laying the foundations that will then be need to develop fashion-related creative projects. Lessons are held by qualified teachers who are also occasionally supported by other professionals such as art directors, editors and agents. Top-notch equipment are provided by the Academy.

During the first semester – from October to February – students learn shooting technique and photographic composition, both in studio and outdoors.  Technique will be studied according to the purpose of the shoot, studying the possible solutions for editorials, campaigns, catalogs or individual projects.

Together with digital photography, students learn about black-and-white analog photography and by discovering the darkroom they develop and print at a fine-art level.
Post-production is taught with the latest versions of the softwares used in any professional work environments: Photoshop, Camera Raw and Lightroom.
Students also learn art history end increase their cultural background keeping always an eye to analogies and parallelisms in photography.
Contemporary photography is examined through the analysis of international magazines and editorial guidelines.

In the second semester – from March to July – thanks to the acquired skills from first semester, students will be able to develop and fulfill their own creative projects.

For the entire duration of this course, students work together with stylists, make-up artists and other industry professionals. With their support, students will be able to develop a fashion editorial from the idea and the creation of the moodboard, until the final shooting for a trendy editorial, a look book, a catalog, and so on.
